Summary

In 1988, an explosion in Tokyo led to World War III. In 2019, a new city has been built. People lose faith in the government and are in the hope of finding Akira for redemption. Kaneda has to battle against the government when the military captures Tetsuo. Things get out of hand when Tetsuo starts to abuse his superpower. The truth behind the disaster 31 years ago is about to unravel.
