《戀上換裝娃娃》改編自福田晉一同名漫畫，男主角「五条新菜」在看到爺爺所畫的女兒節娃娃後，立志成為日本女兒節娃娃工匠的高中生，卻在童年時因興趣不符合大眾觀點而被取笑，導致在成長的過程中不願與人群接觸，甚至到高中還沒交到半個朋友。直到遇見和自己個性完全相反，又是全校焦點的女主角「喜多川海夢」，並開始幫女主角製作 Cosplay 的服裝，一個以 Cosplay 為起點的戀愛故事就此展開。
