112 Operator

I did enjoy my time playing 112 Operator. It has a very solid foundation for a simulation game but isn’t one that you can turn off to. It’s the perfect addition to the PS Library of a simulator game fan but can be daunting to anyone that isn’t 100% sure of what they’re getting into. The game has also made many positive improvements from 911 operator. I am very excited to see what Jutsu Games plan on doing next!

112 Operator is ultimately a niche game let down by some bad design choices on the Switch. While the premise is interesting, the UI immersive and the gameplay compelling, the control options and confusing visuals on the Switch make it hard to stay focused. This is a game best played on a workstation with no distractions, and that’s about as far away from the Switch’s capabilities as one could imagine. If you’re the kind of player who can stomach the game’s flaws and dry moments, you’d still be better off to try it on another platform.

Simulations can be a tricky business on consoles since they typically feature more complex controls better suited to the PC, but the ones that get it right are sometimes a real treat...

Despite its repetitive call cycle and crowded map, 112 Operator is a stressful yet enjoyable simulation/strategy game that truly shows the hardships of working as an emergency service operator. Plus, it helped bring closure to a childhood event that I didn't know I needed.

Overall, 112 Operator is a fun game for anyone who likes to play management sims. Unfortunately, when the easy control system and preset stories wear thin, there’s nothing to keep this dispatcher from changing careers. I know the developers are planning to release more content, which will help, but I don’t think that will be enough to completely salvage the experience.

112 Operator is more of a spinoff than a sequel. It adds a few things, but also carries over all the problems of its predecessor. While there's still potential here for an enjoyable micromanagement game, it gets lots in the shuffle of bad design choices and repetition.

Being an emergency operator is probably not as fun or exciting as this 112 Operator shows us, but luckily, at Jutsu Games they have not taken that into account when offering us this excellent game of units micromanagement. Also, we may end up sending a police car to arrest a thief who is breaking into our home, who can say no to that?

The game is great and keeps you on your toes. I love the variety and how different units play their parts. It is challenging but ultimately fun and rewarding. With a good flow of updating and maybe even mod support, it can continue to be a great game.

112 Operator may not look particularly exciting to an observer, but to put yourself in the hot-seat and actually play is exhilarating.
