At the end of the day, the game is still very barebones and doesn’t offer much in terms of variety. Considering how clunky Access feels to control thanks to the DS4 touchpad and buttons, you’re also better off buying this game on a touch-compatible device if you have that option, and once you beat all the puzzles, there’s really little reason to go back, since the platinum unlocks after you do them all. For $5, it’s fine, but you’d probably enjoy a brainteaser like this a bit more elsewhere.

If you're looking for a logic-based puzzle game to eat up a few hours of your time, Access Denied is perfect for you. Although it lacks instructions or exposition on what you're doing and how to do it, as long as you're good at problem-solving, you'll have no issues working out the solution to each of the puzzles presented before you. Don't let the low number of puzzles put you off either, some of them will take 30-60 seconds and some may take upwards of ten minutes due to their complexity and crypticness. I do believe the game would most likely control better on a device with mouse or touch though, such as the PC and/or the Switch/Vita.

Overall, Access Denied was disappointing to me as I expected more puzzles, a plot to serve as a backdrop to give the initiative to solve the boxes, and smoother controls.

Access Denied is a rather forgettable puzzle game that doesn't do enough with its mechanics to justify a recommendation. While there are scant moments of brilliance, there isn't much here to excite even the biggest puzzle fans.

Overall Access Denied was good experience. The game didn’t wasn’t too hard to get frustrated over and it wasn’t too easy to get annoyed about, it was just the right level of difficulty that makes you literally think outside of the box.

Access Denied is an odd take on the puzzle game, one that presents a different type of challenge.

It starts out rather easily, with you just needing to manipulate switches or dials into a proper position but relatively quickly it begins to ramp up a little...

Access Denied is a simple logic game where you are tasked with openning boxes locked with some tricky locks. Across all 36 levels you need to flip switches, build circuits and fill tanks with liquids. Nice and relaxing, also easy Gamerscore and platinum trophy.
