Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms is one of the most intriguing role-playing games released in recent years. While some design choices, such as the Soulslike combat system that doesn't work too well with Diablolike enemy encounters in the current version of the game, impact the experience, Gamera Interactive blended elements of both traditional and modern RPGs rather well, creating an experience that is more than worthy of any RPG fan's time.

Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms combines a classic isometric RPG gameplay and Souls-like style battles, where one mistake can end your entire career as a Champion. The game features deep sprawling lore, interesting build options, living world - all yours for the taking, if you manage to defeat the combat system first.

A great action RPG, challenging, stimulating and full of passion. It has room for improvement, but if this is just the beginning we will see some great things.

Alaloth is an experience that, in a world dominated by increasingly less challenging games, manages to retain the charm of the purest fantasy, the one made of real challenges and worlds to explore with patience and dedication.

Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms is an action RPG that takes the graphical style of Baldur's Gate and Pillars of Eternity and enriches it with a much more challenging than average combat system, making any button mashing-centric approach futile and forcing us to use, for once, all the skills the game makes available. Although all the typical RPG elements have been included, a certain sparingness has been used in the variety of options so as not to scare off those who do not like to get lost in hundreds of statistics, making sword skill more important than the skill point placed on a given feature.

Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms can conquer both the enthusiast of the precise and modular combat of soulslike and the lover of old-style role-playing games like the first Baldur's Gate.
