Anomaly Agent is a riot from beginning to end. It challenges you gradually and features a tough, but fair approach to fast-paced action-platforming and combat. Having fluidity in movement allows the gameplay flow to be smooth from each kind of action the player engages in and no stages ever outstay their welcome. Having different kinds of combat and platforming on display from area to area helps keep things fresh too. Visually, it accomplishes its goal of evoking the '80s while still featuring lighting effects that weren't possible in the era while the soundtrack offers a satisfying blend of synth and rock to change the mood up whenever it's needed. Anyone seeking fast-paced thrills should check out Anomaly Agent.

Anomaly Agent is a fast, slick adventure through time. This small indie team has done a great job with this, its first game, paving the way for a promising future. Despite a few little technical glitches, this is one title worth checking out.

If you're into side scroller beat 'em ups, then look no further. Anomaly Agent supplies you with a plethora of weapons and moves to deal with combatants in style. The story isn't a masterpiece, but it definitely has compelling moments, usually fueled by the garish and lively characters.

Anomaly Agent won’t leave you pondering its vast world or lore. Instead, it delivers a focused, high-octane blast of retro-infused action. The combat’s frenetic energy, the charm of its pixel art, and the genuinely funny moments of absurdity made it a blast to play from start to finish. While I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece, those craving a quick hit of adrenaline-fueled, laugh-out-loud thrills will find Anomaly Agent a worthwhile escape. And hey, sometimes a little mindless, time-bending absurdity is exactly what you need.

Anomaly Agent brings the satisfying action of Streets of Rage, crosses it with the driving heart of Katana Zero and leaves you with just the right level of humor, story and personalization. It’s amazing in short bursts or long form play, and pick up players will have no difficulty remembering where they were or what they were doing.

Anomaly Agent is a genre-bending, time-twisting, gun-toting, knuckle-crackin' badass of a game, waiting to chuck you around and leave you breathless on the floor, ready for round two.

Anomaly Agent is a debut with a bang for Phew Phew Games, which arrives on our monitors with a beat'em up with Canabalt-style endless runner elements, a charismatic and crazy protagonist, plus music to shoot at full volume that accompanies the action in beautiful pixel art. The attack and dodge combination starts with the simple press of two buttons and gradually becomes more and more complex with combos and special weapons. Sudden gameplay changes and gigantic bosses each one with its own fighting style make this game unmissable for those who love action.

With its short playtime filled with well-done gameplay, humor, and execution, Anomaly Agent is worthy of your time to go through, even if there are some lackluster moments you’d come across. I had to seriously sit down and play through whether it provides what it advertises, and I must say it is impressive for a newly established company. However, expectations should not be stretched to the moon as the gameplay does not bring anything new to that table unless you are below the said table, which means go ahead, absolutely try it.

As a player who has been waiting to enter 2D action games for years, but has not been able to throw himself on that side due to unnecessary time extensions and ridiculous save systems, Anomaly Agent seemed like a drug to me. It is also a nice detail that the game that dragged me into this genre came out of the territory of our country. If you're looking for a 2D action game that will put aside a few hours of fun without thinking too much about it and being exposed to ridiculous save systems. Give Anomaly Agent a chance. You can start a rollover on your behalf.
