Why play it

“SCION” is a shooting game released by SEIBU KAIHATSU in 1984. The game is set in Crystal Heaven, a sprawling supercity built in multiple layers. Your mission is to rescue your captured kin trapped within the city’s core. Fight your way down from the upper levels, tearing through each layer as you advance toward the enemy’s stronghold deep within!

Scion is an example of the early ages of arcade space shooters that’s been lost within the genre. The Arcade Archives 2 release of the game is a pixel perfect recreation, bringing an authentic arcade feel to the home. Quality of life changes make the brutal campaign that bit more achievable and less of a slog!
