Why play it

Baladins is a choose-your-own-story multiplayer game (1-4 players online) inspired by Role-Playing Games. A whole campaign with friends, packed in 1-hour sessions!

Story and worldbuilding

Buskers, party animals, troublemakers... People gave them many names, but they call themselves Baladins! They travel from one town to another to fulfill their noble quest: entertainement! A hard task with many faces. They can sing, dance, cook and throw a party. One day they help the community, and the other they create chaos! They can be glorious, they can be annoying, and they are always unexepected! Their name is as old as the land itself and their origin long-forgotten. Their deeds are told in the folktales, to amuse or to inspire. Their legend precedes them and give hope and joy to the people.

Baladins has a lot of content, and it’s definitely going to appeal to fans of Tabletop RPG’s. It’s a fun game, has a good bit of humor, and looks great. $24.99 is a decent price because you can get anywhere between 10 and 15 hours out of the game if you’re doing everything it has to offer.

Baladins captures tabletop warmth through a looping week structure, turning planning into tension and co-op chatter into the real reward while struggling with the spectre of repetition.

With an adorable visual style that seems to draw inspiration from storybook art, Baladins offers solid and fun gameplay for friends, which can even be enjoyed by those who have certain reservations about text-based RPGs.

While it has a cavalcade of little stories and quests, and can be enjoyed with friends, the end product doesn’t really come together

While Baladins isn’t for me, I can see a lot of people who would adore this game. Baladins is a tabletop RPG for people who love Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley; it's a game meant to be played with your friends and relax too and I truly commend it for that.

Baladins knows what it wants to be: a digital tale you can read over and over again. It lets you try new things, laugh at strange quest results, and slowly figure out a mystery that keeps looping around. Are you ready for one more roll of the dice, or will you accept the reset, gather your trust tokens, and finally trick the dragon?

Baladins is a breath of fresh air. Its board game inspired playstyle, coupled with branching dialogue and open quests, allows me to explore and experience it at my own pace. Adding the ability to play with up to three other people makes it feel like I’m sitting around a board game with friends. The loop mechanic adds an interesting element, refreshing the board every six turns, but it never became troublesome, as the game offers plenty to explore and do. I highly recommend this game for those who love board games and are looking for a new experience with friends during your weekly game night sessions.

Baladins is a unique and feel-good game that keeps you engaged and excited while exploring this adventure with your friends. The fun of the dice rolls and improving your ability scores through activities and challenges, combined with the cute and fun TTG elements, makes this game a joy to play with friends. The potential for expansion on the original story is high, and multiple copy bundles would enhance the experience even more.

Baladins is creative, charming, and sweet, but the gameplay structure just fails to be compelling.
