Mioi and the others, as apprentice Tuners, embarked on a six-month investigation in Baixiang City. As their mission progressed, the city's normalcy began to unravel, with dissonance and disturbances growing increasingly frequent and severe.

Story and worldbuilding

This is a world where humans and the conscious beings known as Kururu coexist. The study of the essence and mechanisms of Kururu has not yet reached any conclusions that have achieved widespread consensus. However, it is generally agreed that it is a form of life that exists in harmony and resonance with all human mental and physiological rhythms, capable of interacting with humans during cognition, thought, or communication. Humans must maintain a benign balance with Kururu to ensure the stability of their sanity and cognitive abilities. However, only a very few humans can visually identify, physically perceive, and manipulate Kururu, and conduct systematic research on them. We call these individuals "Tuners." This summer, Mioi (barely) passed the professional exam and came to Baixiang City as an apprentice Tuner, along with Kasula and Syss. This is a coastal city with nearly two centuries of history but not much communication with the outside world, which, however, has attracted the attention of the Tuners Association in the past decade. As the routine tasks were carried out, this metropolis began to exhibit abnormalities, with phenomena of group dysregulation becoming increasingly common and severe. At the same time, two mysterious Tuners who had received special commissions also arrived in Baixiang City...
