If you go in expecting a terrible game – say, one of the worst games of the year – then you may be pleasantly surprised. For all its flaws, it’s actually kind of fun.

Blood of Mehran is a wasted opportunity. A compelling concept is buried under repetitive gameplay, a weak story, and technical problems, highlighting a critical need for innovation in Persian game development.

Want to know if you'll like *Blood of Mehran*? Imagine it’s the year 2002, and you’re playing a straightforward, linear action game from Polish or Russian developers. The kind that doesn’t offer anything particularly original and doesn’t quite meet the technical standards you’re used to, but at the same time isn’t outright bad and manages to captivate you with its atmosphere and fresh setting. That’s exactly what this Iranian hack-and-slash game is like. If you like old-school hack-and-slash games, can handle a bit of rough edges, and enjoy discovering titles from less popular gaming regions, give it a try.

Blood of Mehran attempts to recapture the glory of the golden age of linear action games, but it stumbles between ambition and reality. The game has a charming artistic vision and a haunting soundtrack, but weak combat, poor technical performance, and a mediocre narrative make it an incoherent experience. There are moments of promise, but they are lost amid incomplete design and limited polish. It's an ambitious project with sincere intentions, but it needs updates and a recalibration to reach the level its artistic vision deserves.

Blood of Mehran unfortunately lacks its own independent identity. The game wanders between an Eastern epic narrative and an imitation of Western formulas, and ultimately does neither well. There is no fresh approach to the game's story, no gameplay, and no cohesive visuals. The result is a game that could have been distinctive and respectable, but remains only a shadow of its potential.

Poor combat and stealth only serve to highlight the rest of the issues with Blood of Mehran, and far too soon does it become a slog to play rather than the epic Arabian adventure it could have been.

For players intrigued by the Mesopotamian setting and willing to overlook flaws, Blood of Mehran provides an experience unlike most on the market. For everyone else, it may feel like a missed opportunity—a game with a strong vision but inconsistent execution

Blood of Mehran lands squarely in the mid card table with a 5 out of 10. The game’s heart is in the right place, but with shallow storytelling, repetitive combat, and a lack of originality, it’s a faint shadow of greater epics that came before.

Blood of Mehran has all the right bones for what a game of this type should be, and it plays fine, but it's one that unfortunately never truly impresses.

Blood of Mehran feels like a pale imitation of far better action-adventures, and a lazy imitation at that. Good visuals can't make up for sub-par mechanics, linear level design, or an uninspired story which doesn't seem to have any real reference to "The Arabian Nights."
