Bread & Fred has solid platforming mechanics, and the introduction of the rope opens the door to brand-new frustrations and gameplay elements. It succeeds greatly at producing a co-op experience that’ll either have you at the throats of your friends and loved ones, or laughing uncontrollably, even if it feels like there isn’t much more substance beneath the surface.
Read full review ↗Bread & Fred is a bit like a carrot and stick game: It can be extremely frustrating when you get stuck in the same spot for minutes, but you're all the more euphoric when you finally manage to master it. However, you realize that you've only climbed another 5 meters out of a total of 500. Numerous side quests are waiting to be discovered and completed. But very few will see them without help. However, anyone who enjoys the challenging game concept will certainly find something to enjoy here.
Read full review ↗Bread & Fred is a unique platformer with moments of brilliance and frustration in equal measure. It looks lovely and has a great approach to co-op gaming, along with the inclusion of Jeff in single-player mode. It's hard, so grab a patient partner if you want to enjoy this one.
Read full review ↗Ultimately, if you’re looking for a casual, easygoing experience with some friends, this isn’t a game I’d recommend. But if you’re up for a legitimate challenge and aren’t worried about potentially losing your mind or loved ones, I can’t give it anything less than a sterling score. Assuming you’re like me and lie somewhere in the middle, I’ve got to split the difference.
Read full review ↗Bread & Fred is definitely very funny, and it even makes you chuckle sometimes. It was cool to see Patricio and his mom replicate the meme, and the photos are really cool, but I couldn't get into the gameplay, always feeling frustrated and tired.

Read full review ↗Bread & Fred is so brutally tough that I can only recommend it to co-op chums who relish mastering ridiculous challenges together.
Read full review ↗Bread & Fred has interesting ideas, but its frustrating execution and disrespect for the player’s time keep it from being enjoyable.
Read full review ↗Bread & Fred is a novel concept that fails to deliver due to its frustrating climbing mechanics. The idea of climbing a large mountain and working with a partner to do so is appealing; however, the inconsistent physics and anger-inducing design that allows you to lose progress in an instant hinder the game. Although SandCastles Studio adds an array of assist options to address these concerns, at its core, the game struggles to balance challenge with enjoyment. The fundamental design flaws overshadow the creative premise, resulting in an experience that is more exasperating than entertaining.
Read full review ↗Bread & Fred is an excellent option for those who like to play with someone at their side. The penguins' adventure is full of charisma, tension and frustration but it offers some hours of fun and arguing among players. The title also adapts itself to diverse situations, having a singleplayer mode and accessibility options that make it more pleasant to casual players.
