This genre's lineup on Switch has changed a lot since the original in 2018, and this feels primitive. Slaps & Beans 2 offers a long, adventurous campaign with a lot to see and do, and will remain a treat for dedicated fans of the duo. But, the combat, overshadowed by its novelty interludes, should be more fulfilling and less repetitive.

Bud Spencer & Terence Hill – Slaps and Beans 2 is a more expansive and varied game than the first installment, but that doesn’t necessarily make it better. The developers chose to focus on adding content rather than fine-tuning the mechanics that were clunky in the first game. Yet it was precisely the first game’s simplicity and straightforwardness that made it more appealing. Fans of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, however, will likely be so saturated with the familiar humor and web of references that they probably won’t complain at all—or at least not too loudly.

The true dynamic duo returns in Slaps and Beans 2, a beat 'em up as classic as their filmography that goes straight to the heart of nostalgia and simple fun. Anyone looking for an intuitive adventure, simple and ideal to enjoy with friends, will find pure gold here.

While a fairly simplistic affair, Slaps & Beans 2 is an enjoyable slice of beat-’em-up action. Between the love for the source material that pours out of every pixel and the massively entertaining set pieces, Slaps & Beans 2 may not be the deepest offering the genre has to offer, but it’s clear it was never meant to be. Instead, what you get is a history lesson in Bud and Terence’s brand of slapstick comedy and a combat system that’s simple enough to provide hours of fun for the whole family. On that basis, Slaps & Beans 2 is an easy recommendation.

Bud Spencer & Terence Hill – Slaps and Beans 2 is a side-scrolling beat 'em up that entertains fans of Carlo Pedersoli and Mario Girotti's legendary films. Unfortunately, Trinity Team focused only on fans of the movies, missing the opportunity to attract a broader audience of beat 'em up enthusiasts with a bit more effort.

Bud Spencer & Terence Hill - Slaps And Beans 2 is not a bad game, and will especially appeal to fans of the legendary Italian duo. Compared to the first game, it has been expanded and improved in many ways, but it also has some nasty bugs that detract from the overall experience.

The gameplay is unfortunately too weak to counter the mass of opponents tactically and deteriorates to button mashing; one lacks overview, especially when the screen zooms out and one has 30 opponents in a heap and the bosses are partly quite unfair. The pixel graphics are very pleasing to behold, but most probably can't do anything with the music.
