Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a great chance to get the classics of the genre and remember the old days. Castlevania III, IV and Bloodlines are fun to play even now. And the ability to record progress at any time is particularly useful in ruthless 8-bit games. It is a pity that there are no later projects like Symphony of the Night in the collection. However, it can be easy recommended to all fans of the series and genre of old school action-platformers.

There’s no better home for it than on Switch. Castlevania Anniversary Edition has to be played handheld, even if not all the titles in it are a reminder of the franchises’ better days.

However, these are just ports to modern platforms and, if you compare Konami's work with what other franchises like Crash bandicoot, Spyro or Resident Evil have achieved with their remakes, Castlevania just falls behind.
