With no shortage of levels, plenty of playable characters and respective upgrades, Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues goes above and beyond the standards set by licensed games. The show on Netflix has been amazing and this game is amazing as well. The music and mechanics are great and give you a real feel for the 80's nostalgia trip. Yes, a baffling surprise that will have fans confused on how entertaining this game is. It’s no Mortal Kombat, nor is it a River City Girls, but Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues does demonstrate heart in its barefaced approach. Remember, “You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.”

The Cobra Kai video game is definitely not the best around, but it brings honor to a classic genre that keeps fighting.

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga is a very nostalgic game, but not in the way you might think. It's not that it's a beat 'em up, nor that it's based on an ageing franchise, or even because it looks like it should be able to run on a Sega Saturn. No, it's nostalgic because this a licensed video game that is fairly terrible, using its branding as a smokescreen to hide a multitude of problems from an unwitting buyer until it's far too late. It's just like the good old days. If this was 1991 then Cobra Kai would have been published by Ocean Software.

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is a pretty average overall all beat-‘em-up game with lackluster presentation that gets an assist from varied characters, a split narrative that encourages replay and a solid sense of RPG-lite progression kept me going longer than I probably would have otherwise. There’s a decent brawler here that fans of the Karate Kid property will probably enjoy, but I do hope a future patch can smooth out some of those rough edges in the core combat.

That a successful series such as Cobra Kai has not ended up being a game of chess or basketball between the two rival dojos, is what anyone would expect. That it has a powerful RPG component is already a bit more surprising. A technically fair beat'em up, too repetitive and too long. But also, forceful, with an excellent rhythm and distributing wax, polishing wax by hand. The series moves decently into a fun game, even with a debatable and improvable approach.

Cobra Kai is an entertaining beat 'em up, colorful and faithful to the original, and also incredibly rewarding in co-op. It does, however, suffer from some annoying technical issues.
