Cogen's game is recommended for fans of old 2D action, as long as you don't mind its heavy anime atmosphere.

The story, while simple, is appealing and curious, and the gameplay is solid enough to make every stressful moment during Kohaku's campaign worth it, with a special mention to the beautiful audiovisual presentation. The replayability due to the achievements is excellent for people who enjoy challenges, and old school players will definitely feel the pain and pleasure from a game that joins the ranks of great sadic games, along with immortal classics such as The Prince of Persia and The Lion King.
Read full review ↗COGEN: Sword of Rewind is a solid side-scrolling platformer that perfectly implements a time-shifting mechanic. Combat and platforming are tough but rewarding, making the moment-to-moment gameplay a joy. While the main characters and bosses are brilliantly depicted, the stages are bland and lack the identity that enshrouds its cast. Even though the game is short, there are many reasons to revisit the game, making this a title that you shouldn’t fast-forward.
