Control's first major DLC expansion is a wonderful return to this weird world, even if it doesn't take any huge risks.
Read full review ↗Every so often, The Foundation produces a spark of what made the original campaign so memorable.
Read full review ↗It's a pleasure to dive back into Control, and that's why I genuinely enjoyed my time with The Foundation. I still love hunting down every research note and every minute-long audio file -- anything to fill in more of the lore gaps in this bizarre, enigmatic world. This expansion does all of that even if it's ultimately left feeling inconsequential. Ironically, The Foundation fails to build on the excellent structure Remedy already built with Control.
Read full review ↗Despite some grievances, Remedy's newest expansion is a worthwhile compliment to the fantastic base game.
Read full review ↗Control: The Foundation is a rock-solid expansion that provides more of the explosive action, mind-bending mystery, and quirky humor that makes the main game so much fun.
Read full review ↗The Foundation is a nice addition to the Control-verse, clocking in around 4-5 hours to complete. It’s not doing anything groundbreaking, but it is more of the same, which is a damn good thing in Control’s case. Yes, it would have been nicer for the missions to have been a bit more dynamic, but the world-building and the storytelling continue to be one of Control’s major selling points. With the next expansion set to expand the lore even further with connections to Alan Wake, it feels like Remedy is in it for the long haul.
Read full review ↗It's a good, honest DLC drop that I enjoyed far more than I thought I would. If you enjoyed Control, I'd recommend this.
Read full review ↗I enjoyed a lot of my time with The Foundation, but I'm left wondering how much of a lasting impact it'll have on the Control universe as a whole. It felt more like an entertaining distraction than a large step forward, but I had no problem eating up all the lore, info and strange encounters I could find. If you're a fan of the game and thought it was one of the best games of 2019, you'll see that poking around in the underbelly of the Oldest House is well worth the time.
Read full review ↗The first DLC of control adds more value to the package by adding new gameplay mechanics and telling a different aspect of Oldest House story.
