Cubic Odyssey

Cubic Odyssey tried to reach for the stars, but ultimately, it fell flat. With limited action and a lot of grinding, there's very little to actually do in what should be an expansive galaxy.

Definitely don't dismiss Cubic Odyssey as a Minecraft clone because there's a lot of great gameplay and enjoyable exploration packed in here. 🧊

Cubic Odyssey is definitely not a game to judge by its cover. It adds in its own unique flavour to make it stand apart after that initial impression. It’s going to take me a long, long time to fully wade deeper into the game. If you’re a fan games like Minecraft, this isn’t one you’ll want to miss. With a vast amount of content to explore and means of doing so, Cubic Odyssey is well-deserving of the Thumb Culture Platinum Award.

I may have made this game sound like it’s the biggest and most pointless waste of time in history, but, in a shocking twist, I loved Cubic Odyssey. Despite its flaws, despite its horrendously grindy nature, I clocked in 23 hours in a mere week. I was immersed in its world, I was feeling accomplished whenever I was able to upgrade my gear, or when I was able to stealthly murder every single pirate in a base. Seeing my little base grow from a derelict shack in front of a temple to a complete scientific station with advanced tech and self-sustaining capabilities… flawless.

A brilliant combination of creativity, survival, and exploration. With constant updates, Cubic Odyssey has the potential to become a benchmark title in its genre.

Cubic Odyssey surprised me. It’s one of those games that sneaks up on you; the more you play, the more it draws you in. Between the solid sci-fi theme, satisfying progression, and blend of structure and freedom, it delivers an experience that feels both familiar and fresh. If you’ve never been into crafting games, this might be your gateway. If you’re already a fan of the genre, there’s more than enough depth and novelty to keep you engaged. And with co-op in place and ongoing updates likely, it’s only going to get better from here. Cubic Odyssey is a sandbox space title that is a little lacking in content but also really good, thanks also to a multiplayer section that increases its longevity and fun.

All in all, Cubic Odyssey is a good game that gets a little bogged down by its own complexities, like character abilities and battery power.
