Even with added mechanics, the gameplay gets stale before long. The repetitive task of moving characters from point A to point B could only sustain my interest for so long. However, I feel that this game is just the right amount of complicated for a little kid. The puzzles change bit by bit as you move along, and the bright, cheery colors and animal companions could suit a younger audience. That said, I feel I could only recommend Cubicity if it was for a child, as the gameplay is repetitive and lacks the depth of a story.

Cubicity is a family-friendly puzzle game that is full of cute little animal avatars. It packs in ninety-five levels of puzzle fun for a meagre price. It suffers from some repetitive music and gameplay and after awhile levels seem easy to clear for full credit. It definitely ranks well in handheld mode and makes for great stop-and-go on the go gameplay!

Cubicity is far from a bad game, but easy puzzles make it one that you'll forget about pretty quickly. However, it comes with plenty of content.

Puzzle games are a dime a dozen (or perhaps even more than that) on the Switch, so it's important to offer up something distinct to bubble up when people go hunting for some fun...

If you like those slide puzzle mini-games you find in many other games, Cubicity is a cutesy, leisurely game built around that core concept. There’s 6 to 8 hours of content in this original package with the hint of more to come later but in less than half of that time, you’ll have seen everything this game has to offer. It’s easy – far too easy for my taste as it becomes boring quickly – but this is a comfortable way to kill an hour or 2 before the monotony sets in.

Guiding animals to their goals makes for a fun grid-based puzzler but Cubicity could definitely use a lot more fine-tuning.
