DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power could have easily been a disaster; a cheap cash-in with little or no merit. Thankfully, it's actually a surprisingly comprehensive and satisfying experience that fans of the show will absolutely love. There are plenty of characters to interact with, an excellent shopping feature, and lots of fun little tasks to keep you occupied. Don't get us wrong, the game knows its target audience and caters to that younger demographic, so older gamers may not gel with the overall tone and simplistic gameplay. However, kids who might not yet be ready for the 'grimdark' ("MARTHA!") DCEU, this might be the perfect alternative.

Overall, DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power is a power trip through the everyday lives of three of Dark Comics’ most beloved female leads. Unfortunately, the rest of the cast does not become playable at any point – understandably so. The game is surprisingly faithful to its source material, which is [and it must be stressed] a whacky and warped television show based on the comics. The show, while not to everyones taste, does have a lot of heart, and so does the game. It is just an extreme shame how the game has no clear target audience: it looks and feels like a children’s game with strong messaging about obsession and social media. At the same time, however, it is a surprisingly deep arcade brawler, complete with customisation and extra game modes that tie back into the main experience. DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power serves as a neat escape into the world of the television show, but ultimately fails to wow thanks to an obvious conflict around who the game’s target audience is supposed to be.

Ultimately DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power does exactly what it has set out to do, which is to create a fun, enjoyable experience for younger players. What is really surprising, however, is that adult players can also find so much enjoyment. All the basics are there, and are done to a good enough standard that if a DC fan, there are enough little nods and references to hold interest. If your children are just getting accustomed to the comic book/gaming genre, and as a parent struggle to find a suitable entrance point, this is the perfect start.

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power’s main campaign can be completed in about 10 hours, and this time will double if you want to clear every single side mission and unlock all outfits, which are not many, to begin with. So, it begs the question, why does a game like this cost 60 dollars? The game doesn’t work well outside of its demographic, and even then, it’s rather subpar for an action game featuring such iconic characters.

Overall, DC Super Hero Girls is a very solid kids game. Nothing is new or revolutionary, but the game feels incredibly well put together. The story is enjoyable, the voice acting is exceptional, and the world feels fleshed out. With so many recognizable heroes and villains in a high school setting, it's hard not to enjoy some time with this happy slice of the DC Universe.

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power may expand the experience of young DC sympathizers, but even they will at some point want more. With good promotion – definitely yes. Although remember that this is not arkham knight for the younger ones.

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power clearly creaded for kids, and we can recommend this game for purchase only if your child is a big fan of the DC Super Hero Girls animated series and already understands English. Sadly, this game lacks Russian localization.

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power is not a complex game, nor one that manages to stand out in today's market. However, it is an adventure that all children can enjoy, and it is a good introduction to some concepts of the industry.

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power is an incredibly fun experience that will keep you entertained for hours. The systems integration and attention to detail make it feel like nothing was left to chance; it's incredibly well-designed and definitely worth a try for that reason alone.
