Destiny 2: Renegades is a Star Wars-flavored expansion that’s cringey and light on content, but what’s there works surprisingly well.
Read full review ↗I’m not totally sold on the melding of universes that Renegades aims for, but I think the expansion as a whole offers many hours of satisfying exploration, build-crafting, and new rewards to discover. This isn’t the fundamental reinvention of Destiny that many fans seem eager for, but as a creative twist on expectation, it offers plenty of good times.
Read full review ↗Destiny 2: Renegades is what The Edge of Fate could have been: a fresh start into a new saga, packed with excellent combat additions, weapons, and an intriguing narrative.
Read full review ↗With Renegades, Bungie tries an ambitious crossover, but it ends up making Destiny 2 lose its uniqueness. The inspiration from the Star Wars saga feels forced, with a weak story, unconvincing characters, and a universe that ends up being corrupted by alien elements. The campaign is short, the activities are repetitive, and new features are virtually nonexistent. It's only saved from complete disaster by its solid gameplay and a few flashes of brilliance here and there. Definitely not enough to revitalize a struggling live service suffering from an obvious identity crisis.

Read full review ↗Renegades is competent, polished, and approachable—but cautious to a fault. It keeps Destiny functional and familiar at a time when the game arguably needs boldness and self-confidence. For longtime players, it doesn’t feel like a new course has been set, only that the ship has been carefully steadied.
Read full review ↗Renegades does a good job of bringing some fun back to Destiny 2 with some great campaign missions and new hub area. The Star Wars elements are close enough for you to spot the homage, but not so conspicuous as to pull you out the world of Destiny. Enjoyable while it lasts, but Bungie still need to do a lot more work to rescue the game as whole.
