Devil Jam is a fun chaotic few hours enjoyed with cold a beer in hand after a long day's work, just don't expect it to be anything more than that.

Devil Jam is, above all, a game with attitude. The game understands that rock/metal isn't just a “skin,” but a way to gauge intensity, develop characters, and justify excess.

The roguelite action game, Devil Jam, can be a bit of a grind to start, but it has potential with some interesting strategic elements, battle effects, and heavy metal approach to gameplay. It's a respectable "not bad", but it may need a little help.

While it has a pretty cool art style, and a generally rock n’ roll vibe, the balancing issues and ultimate lack of deeper variety hold it back

Top-down roguelite survivors-style experience in which you'll have to fight your way out of hell

Devil Jam has a clear identity, one cool system with the 12-slot fret grid, and enough polish to be playable from start to finish. But it does not push the survivor formula in a meaningful way beyond that one idea. I finished my time with it feeling mildly entertained, mildly frustrated, and mostly ready to move on.

Devil Jam is everything and more than I want out of a survivor roguelite. It offers an engaging combat system with a ton of abilities and buffs, a fantastic heavy metal soundtrack, great voice acting, and a story that does a half-decent job at explaining why I am here in the first place. For a genre I’ve never really been into, Devil Jam sure does prove to me on multiple levels that I am missing out massively on this addictive and fun genre.

With plenty to unlock and multiple difficulties to battle your way through, Devil Jam is great fun and is certainly worth a look for fans of the genre.

Devil Jam pairs confident style with familiar systems, offering a rhythm-infused experience that entertains early before settling into comfortable repetition.

Amidst the sea of rogues and Survivors, Devil Jam rocks up with its effort. With solid gameplay, colourful visuals and a neat beat mechanic, it can be fun. But it doesn't offer much in terms of substance, and is subsequently more for the hardcore genre fans only.
