Godfall: Ultimate Edition

Godfall: Ultimate Edition addresses many of the shortcomings of the original release by bringing in a greater focus on Endgame content and reducing much of the grind it takes to get there.

Godfall is a godlike load of fun to play. I am a firm believer in giving games a second chance and this one is no exception. Gameplay is smooth and uncomplicated, as is really the rest of it, making it easier to get into, and it's oh-so-satisfying.

Godfall Ultimate Edition is a missed opportunity, everything remains the same. An interesting combat, but a disastrous story and gameplay.

At the end of the day, Godfall solves most of the issues it had when it launched years ago, while also accidentally creating a few additional ones that can be a bummer for new players. This time, however, the game displays way more personality overall than its previous iteration, placing you in a more fleshed-out environment with dynamic and enjoyable gameplay, improving upon dull combat and a shallow story.

Counterplay Games did a commendable job enhancing, tweaking, and extending Godfall into one complete package. The core issues are still there though, with poorly implemented combat, boring narrative, and endless grind. But for the amount of content you are getting at a finally reasonable price-point, it's worth a try for those that are into the looter genre. At least it's pretty!

GodFall: Ultimate Edition comes to our screens again with all the content that has been published throughout this year and a half. We will get back into the skin of Orin to try to finish off Macros once and for all while avoiding the destruction of Aperion. Despite all the content added and the errors of the original version corrected, the game continues to be repetitive and it shows.

With all the improvements, Godfall Ultimate Edition feels like just that; with all the previously released DLC and expansions this is truly the ultimate experience for anyone who desires to take down a would-be God.

I’m shocked at just how much I have enjoyed Godfall. The melee combat is some of the most satisfying out there and the time since release has been well spent as they’ve rebuilt and tweaked what was a weak new-generation launch title into something far more substantial. It’s a fun title solo, but if you have one or two friends interested in not only the campaign but grinding out the endgame with you then this one is well worth your time.

Despite limits that cannot be overcome with simple updates, Godfall: Ultimate Edition is the best possible version of itself in terms of quantity of content and overall quality.

Godfall's "Ultimate Edition" is the biggest package yet, but simply puts on a fresh coat of paint over the marks and scuffs to try and hide. There's a fun core, which is brought down by other mistakes.
