Gravity Oddity isn't exactly a high-end action platformer, but it doesn't pretend to be. It's just a bit of fun, with the traditional arcade challenge to move around, do stuff, and not die. Genre fans will enjoy the interesting obstacle course layouts, order-of-operations paths to figure out, and challenging baddies to shoot.

A mix of gravity complications, some shooting, and a bit of frustration initially make way for better play as you go

Gravity Oddity is a roguelike game that plays differently than other games in its genre.  Instead of improving yourself every time you die, you actually improve yourself with every completed run, unlocking new game modes and mods.  While each run isn't necessarily that long once you know what you're doing, getting the hang of the controls and mechanics can be a real challenge, especially when a lot is happening on screen.  Once you can master that though, you'll find a game with a lot of customization, challenge, and replayability that's good to play in small bursts of time.  Strap on your gravity boots, save your roommate, and pay your rent.

Overall, I really liked Gravity Oddity. On the surface, it’s fair some gamers will play this and just see a by-the-numbers action roguelike with simple graphics. For me, it goes so much deeper than that if you give it the time. This truly feels like a game the developer sank a lot of love working within their boundaries yet making something unique and charming. Sure, I found things got hectic at times, and like any roguelike, this has some crazy difficulty spikes that you don’t expect. But I sure had a lot of fun playing this and feel it’s worth your time, whether you are new to roguelikes or experienced in the genre. Gravity Oddity took me to the stars, and I was very happy with the journey, even if it meant a lot of failures in the process.
