GreedFall's epic, morally complex tale of exploration and swashbuckling is enjoyable just about every step of the way.
Read full review ↗Greedfall is an enjoyable jaunt, but it follows its influences a little too closely and fails to engage with its narrative themes in any meaningful manner.
Read full review ↗Taking notes from roleplaying greats, GreedFall makes up for its faults with a lot of spirit.
Read full review ↗GreedFall's combat, dialogue, and romance are overshadowed by better RPGs, but it's competent enough to recommend with caveats.
Read full review ↗GreedFall wants to be a great big game, but without the resources of a huge publisher, many of its components feel half-baked.
Read full review ↗GreedFall's writing is solid, and the player choice is fun to engage in, but the game needs polish and more meaningful action
Read full review ↗This is a step in the right direction for Spiders, but they still have a lot of work to do.
Read full review ↗It's a shame that a good game is held back by incredibly boring design decisions. I think Greedfall is on the verge of greatness but falls short in too many areas to really go down as a must-play. It's absolutely an enjoyable romp, just one plagued by the thought of what could have been.
Read full review ↗When I first saw Greedfall, I wanted to believe that it could, in spite of a charged setting, explore complex ideas. Instead, it skims the surface all the way up to its weak conclusion.
Read full review ↗GreedFall is Spiders' best game by some distance, and it's impressive how far the developer has come in just a few short years. It successfully scratches that BioWare itch with an intriguing world, likeable characters, and rock solid gameplay. However, aside from its unique setting, nothing about GreedFall truly stands out. Its combat is good but not great, its role-playing is largely fine but ultimately stunted, and its writing is competent but sometimes boring. GreedFall is right on the cusp of being something special. RPG fans will find a lot to like, but don't go in expecting the genre's next masterpiece.
