If I could play this thing on a beige CRT while Rob Zombie screamed in my ears I wouldn't know it wasn't 1999. Actually, wait, I can do that. If anyone needs me, tell them I'm busy for the next… foreseeable future.
Read full review ↗Much like Vampire Survivors, it's extremely compelling; time will slip away without you realising it. The gradual sense of progress is well judged, and there's just enough to keep track of, between unlocking characters and stages and totting up persistent upgrades, to hold your attention.

Read full review ↗Halls of Torment efficiently combines the highs of some of the best bullet heaven shooters out there, with immaculate Diablo-coded looks and sounds. Despite not being revolutionary, nor packing the outrageous depth of some of its rivals, Chasing Carrots‘ title is easily one of the most interesting and addictive titles in the genre.
Read full review ↗Halls of Torment is a surprising fusion of two worlds: the depth and atmosphere of Diablo meets the frenzy and accessibility of Survivors-like games. The result is an experience that captivates from the very first minutes and invites you to return game after game, searching for the perfect combination of skills, equipment and luck. Despite a few minor flaws related to balance and certain limitations in the progression system, Chasing Carrots' game stands out as one of the best representatives of the genre, capable of distinguishing itself and shining in its own right. It is a title that not only pays homage to the classics, but also demonstrates how it is possible to innovate while remaining faithful to one's inspirations.

You might encounter the odd minor frustration while playing, but this is very easy to recommend.
