More of a touch-up than a full-on renovation, but Sandbox mode is exciting.

While the game could use a tiny bit more polish and perhaps some DLC, there is still plenty to enjoy in House Flipper 2. Fans of the original should have no trouble diving back into the house-flipping business, with an enhanced set of tools to help get the job done. Sandbox mode opens up new creative possibilities while adding a social element to the game that will only get better as more players get involved. Despite its shortcomings, House Flipper 2 keeps me coming back for more, and I can only hope there will be more to come back to in future updates.

Despite the limited content and somewhat fiddly controls, the game feels great to play. It's endlessly satisfying to turn a neglected garbage heap back into a happy home. The sandbox mode in House Flipper 2 offers lots of creative opportunities and the ability to share with fellow flippers is a big bonus, and will hopefully help the game build an ongoing community. Fingers crossed that more content comes down the road to provide players with even more possibilities.

House Flipper 2 - Sakura DLC is a much-needed refresh for House Flipper 2 long-term fans. It expands the creative sandbox in meaningful ways, while embracing one of the most calming and artistically appealing palettes the series has explored to date.

House Flipper 2 certainly scratched the itch that I had left from the first game once I’d finished with it. Essentially with this experience it is much more of the same but vastly improved in visuals, fluidity and variety. There are some frustrating moments to be had with a controller in hand but thankfully most of those seemed to vanish once you get used to how the game functions. This is one of those games that will always be one I go back to when I want some downtime from high intensity multiplayer titles. Once you are consumed in a project, hours feels like minutes and it becomes incredibly moreish, addictive and almost therapeutic. If you’re a fan of the original title then I highly recommend investing in this follow on and for newcomers there is a lot to be discovered here for you too. Some may want to try the first instalment with the DLC packs before diving into the second. One thing I can say for sure is that you’ll have a flipping great time with either!

House Flipper 2 has joined the House Flipper series but it hasn’t managed to impress me as much as the original. That doesn’t mean to say it’s a bad game in any way! The concept remains the same, visuals have been updated, audio has the same charm, tools have been added and/or changed and the jobs are very similar, making it an easy transition from the first. Also, with that small hint of more content coming in the future, I’m looking forward to the growth of the game and seeing what direction the developers take.

Despite failing to correct some of the problems present since the first game, House Flipper 2 is a strong sequel that both simplifies the gameplay and makes it more interesting and rewarding.
