Why play it

Integrating an outlandish narrative with rigorous mind-bending puzzles, Infini walks a fine line of meditative and chaotic. Standout visuals and concepts are used to create an imaginative and surrealist world where concepts like Poetry, War, Time, and Hope are personified. After being catapulted into Infinity by War, Hope must find his way back to the real world before it begins to suffer from his absence.

Infini is a deeply unusual spatial puzzler with an ingenious portal mechanic. Its rough, abstract art style and psychedelic storytelling won't be for everyone - or even for most people - but it deserves to be played and savoured as a genuine attempt to do something new.

As stated in the beginning of the review, Infini rewards those who can accept its oddities. The story and presentation aren't going to be accepted by the masses, but if you're up for something that you likely haven't seen before and want to try out some atypical puzzles, give Infini a shot.

What I found frustrating, however, was that sometimes the garishness of the background in the puzzles would be too strong and it would actually be quite difficult to differentiate the puzzle itself from the images in the back. Despite my criticisms, I don’t think Infini is necessarily a bad game. I think it’s a game that is trying to tell a story in a very non-linear or traditional way. I just can’t say that this was done effectively. However, I do think the puzzle mechanics are quite interesting and sometimes even refreshing. This is definitely a game you would play for its puzzles rather than any story its attempting to tell. With that said though, it feels to me like either a hit or miss. Personally, it was a miss.

The word puzzler doesn't do Infini justice. It's definitely not for everyone, but I'd say that it's a game that everyone needs to try at least once. Very rarely do the mechanics in puzzle games surprise me, and I think Infini's are well worth exploring, even if you only have a vague interest in puzzlers.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate Infini at an 8. My experience is positive, which just goes to show that one should not judge a video game by its visual aesthetics. And because I didn't expect much out of this title, I found myself pleasantly surprised by its gameplay. Infini is definitely a game to experience, even if its presentation is abstract and perhaps off-putting. So, don't miss out on this title!

At its core, Infini is your basic puzzle/platformer. With its highly unique visuals/audio and absolutely bizarre storytelling, however, it becomes something much…deeper? Maybe. I guess that depends upon how you react to it, and I don't think any two players will take it the same way.

Infini is a puzzle game that manages to offer a truly unique and thought-provoking experience. Although the visual and sound aspect is a point that clearly will not please many people and has a script a little more concrete than the game needed, any fan of the genre should try it.

There are games that merely dabble in weird but then there are also those titles that set up camp in crazyville, unpack their things, and get cozy...

When people talk about chaos, everyone puts form to it, whatever it is, but we know it doesn't have form. Infini turns out to have it, but with a radiant and pure heart that we will spin through its hundred puzzles, its ingenious changing rules, and its aspect as unclassifiable as the story we will live embodying Hope.
