With its short playtime, Iris.Fall doesn't overstay its welcome and presents an interesting distraction that never bores. Variety is the spice of life in this instance, so it's unfortunate that new elements are sometimes introduced that are so baffling that players may be discouraged from seeing the story through to the end credits. For those that do, however, a beautiful and unsettling adventure awaits with some great mechanics laid over some even greater visual design and cues.

As a rather short yet wholly immersive puzzle-filled adventure, Iris.Fall manages to remain clever and captivating from start to finish.

Iris.Fall might not break any new ground in terms of gameplay, but what it brings to the table it does well. There are some pacing issues due to severe difficulty spikes with a couple of its puzzles, but for the most part it delivers an enjoyable (albeit short) experience.

The puzzles in Iris.Fall can sometimes be momentum killers, and they will likely cause some players to leave the game unfinished despite its short duration. However, those who stick with it will be rewarded with an experience that never ceases to visually delight (and reward) the player.

While Iris.Fall is a bit shorter than we'd like for it's $39.99 USD price tag it's still a journey we're glad we took! The game has some of the most innovative puzzles we've seen in a game on any platform! Couple the innovation that uses objects in the light and shadow worlds with some spectacular animation and you have a clear cut winner for one of the best puzzle games ever on the Nintendo Switch platform!

This was one monochromatic journey that I adored. The stunning visuals, atmospheric audio, creepy imagery, and accessible puzzles make this a game that should be purchased. Yes, the game mechanics have been done to death, and the eerie concept is as old as the hills, yet the combined elements work in perfect harmony. It will not surprise you that I recommend that you should play Iris Fall, I just wish all indie developers could take a leaf out its book. Following a black cat into a weird world was a big mistake, but can you overcome all the puzzles and get to the other side? I’m pretty sure you can.

Iris Fall is a brief, yet satisfying visual adventure that deserves attention and shouldn’t be overlooked.

Visually speaking, Iris.Fall is very pleasing. However, the magic ends when you realize you have a title with frustrating puzzles, poorly used mechanics and a disappointing replay factor.

Iris Fall is a lovely presented puzzle game that despite its short length, offers a great amount of variety with its puzzles. Although the mechanics are simple, the game uses them well to create an engaging time for its 2-3 hour run time. However, I can't say I found myself compelled to play this again after my first playthrough. There's very little replay value and for its length and console launch price, I don't think this port is worth picking up right away.
