Secret Agent: Use your jetpack and the golden gun and save the world from Evil.

Story and worldbuilding

The plot resembles some movies and novels of the James Bond series and takes place in the U.S. in an unspecified time period described in game as "199X". During the introduction sequence, the president and his wife are waving at the crowd next to a limousine at the White House in Washington D.C., when terrorists (some flying in using jetpacks) approach the president and his wife armed and dangerous, and, as soon as the screen goes red and gun sounds are heard, they seem to shoot not only the crowd, but also the president and the first lady, who are both presumed dead. Later, a secret agent working for the American secret service, and known only by the name of Sly, is informed that the terrorists who struck at the presidential ceremony were located, identified, and confirmed to be CWD (Council for World Domination) members. CWD is a secret underground criminal organization with terrorist foundations, involved in drugs and arms dealing and government corruption, and ultimately plotting world conquest. Sly is assigned by the secret service to eliminate the CWD. Listening to the world's desperate plea for freedom and hoping to protect those he loves most, Sly jumps from a plane towards Washington D.C., and begins his campaign to prevent the terrorists from infiltrating not only the city, but several spots in the U.S., and must also prevent a nuclear missile from launching and striking the Earth.

Sly Spy is yet another excellent slice of uncompromised, over-the-top arcade top action that will surely fit in snugly along the previous Johnny Turbo Arcade releases.

There may not be many retro James Bond games but Sly Spy certainly does a decent job of filling 007's shoes.

Sly Spy is a short and fun arcade experience you can play at home or on the go. You're looking at 30-40 minutes at most to complete the game depending on your skill, as is usually the case for arcade games from ages past. The Johnny Turbo's Arcade continues to grow, and I look forward to playing more games in the series!

Sly Spy is a short and to the point arcade game that is perfectly emulated on Nintendo Switch. The Johnny Turbo's Arcade series has been doing a great job in letting us enjoy some arcade classics at home or on the go, and I look forward to playing the rest of their games very soon!

For a James Bond fan like me, this game's right up my alley with all its nods to the iconic agent, even if it's only the length of a sitcom from start to finish.

As other memorable coin-ops, Sly Spy debuts on Switch with the same pros & cons that other classic games seen on the Johnny Turbos' Arcade series: it's an experience that, by today standards, falls too short (10-12 minutes to complete) and the emulation doesn't offer too many options (no "DIP switches", different versions of the game by region...).

Sly Spy is a decent entry in the Johnny Turbo Arcade lineup, bringing a decent action game to home systems in a more cost-efficient method than the out of print Data East Wii disc. Like Gate of Doom, you won’t be able to adjust any of the DIP Switch settings, which means you can’t make the game easier or harder, rather annoyingly.
