Why play it

Dive deep through the neon-hued brash and bawdy '80s inspired reimagined classic 2D action-platformer with your favorite Bad*ss German, Klaus Lee! Dust off your jetpack, grab your dynamite and prepare your laser eyes and dive deep into Klaus' first challenging adventure!

Story and worldbuilding

You remember Klaus Lee, right?! No? Well, you should! He almost became a cop in Beverly Hills but then applied to be a private investigator in Hawaii and got bored waiting to find out if he got it. Moving back to Cali, he worked as an unknown stuntman while running a squad of troubleshooters that kept getting beaten to the clients by A much more successful Team. One time he barely missed his job interview at a New York startup and some dude named Zeddemore got the job as an exterminator of spirits. Did you know that Klaus trained Maverick how to both fly his jet and play killer beach volleyball? This is only a glimpse of everything he experienced living life to the max. Klaus was a really busy guy!

Klaus Lee: Thunderballs is a loving, brutally difficult homage to a time when players weren't held by the hand, but thrown in at the deep end. Super-precise controls, a merciless difficulty level, and a healthy dose of 80s nostalgia combine to create a challenging and, in the best sense, "old-school" game that rewards countless deaths with many hours of nerve-wracking action.

Klaus Lee – Thunderballs is a love letter to an era of gaming when skill and patience were the only ways forward, but it's delivered with a modern, smartly designed touch. It's tough, sometimes unfairly so, but it's also addictive, well-paced, and endlessly replayable thanks to its level creation tools. Whether you're blasting through the main campaign or diving into player-made deathtraps, the core mechanics remain solid, the humor stays sharp, and the satisfaction of threading the needle with your jetpack never gets old.

Klaus Lee – Thunderballs is an engaging homage to the TV and gaming action heroes of the '80s. It's not the deepest or most diverse platformer you'll play on the Switch, but its 100+ levels and built-in level designer provide plenty of staying power.

Klaus Lee: Thunderballs isn't the kind of game that offers bold proposals, but it does a great job of delivering a competent challenge with a more retro feel. However, it may not be as easy to digest for younger players, who weren't forged with the punishing adventures of an older era of video games.

Channeling the spirit of an old-school game called H.E.R.O., but putting you on the clock, Thunderballs is relatively simple, but well-crafted
