If you enjoyed the core game, this seasonal DLC should still have appeal, but beware that some audio glitches in particular are a bummer

Lake – Season’s Greetings has genuine human interactions, a bright visual art style that is like a balm for the soul, and a no-stress approach to story-telling. You’re guaranteed to come out of it a more relaxed human being after playing it. It’s also the perfect DLC to get into the holiday mood!

Season's Greetings' monotonous delivery-sim structure, inconsequential narrative, & rough technical audio errors are the chief reasons why anyone's enthusiasm would be frostbitten by the end.

Lake: Season's Greetings is a wonderful holiday treat that will get anyone in the mood for the season even if it is a little repetitive.

All in all, Lake: Season’s Greetings is a solid choice of prequel DLC that takes everything I enjoyed in the base games and gives me more of it. I found the new characters entertaining while enjoying learning more about the characters I came to know from the original game. But mostly, the short runtime does the DLC a solid by not making your time in Providence Oaks feel like a slog. As I mentioned earlier, if you enjoyed the original Lake, you’ll undoubtedly get some warm and fuzzy feelings playing Season’s Greetings. If you want that nice and cozy experience, do what I did: grab some fuzzy socks, a mug filled with hot cocoa, and deliver some mail. The only way the experience would have been better is if snow was falling outside my own window.

Lake: Season’s Greetings is a great prequel to an already amazing game. While the original Lake was a delightful experience on its own, Season’s Greetings makes it even cozier with a holiday theme and delivers a brand-new perspective on Providence Oaks and its people. The only problem with it is that it ends too soon and does not come with any post-completion content. The little town of Providence Oaks is a delight to explore in winter, and if you enjoyed the base game, you would certainly love the new prequel. It is the perfect game to tuck into on a cold evening and enjoy as you can easily complete it in one sitting. If you are looking for some cozy and enjoyable games to play this Christmas, Lake: Season’s Greetings should be on your list.

Lake: Season's Greetings fully embraces the cozy nature of the full game, and we loved it for this.

Lake: Season’s Greetings adds a festive twist to the wonderful gameplay loop of the base game, and somehow, it makes it even better to play. I loved seeing Providence Oaks covered in snow and Christmas decorations, whilst getting to experience the town and its inhabitants from Thomas’ perspective felt refreshing – even if the narrative didn’t feel quite as impactful as the first game. It just felt great to be able to return to Providence Oaks and experience the joys of the town once more. And when you add Christmas to the mix? It just feels really special. If you enjoyed the game the first time around, you’re in for a real treat with Lake: Season’s Greetings.

Lake – Season’s Greetings DLC came out at a perfect time for me. Not only that, but it is entirely worth the wait. It is a beautiful, well-crafted addition to an already great game. I hope this is not the last DLC we see for Lake.
