A town management sim with some good design ideas, but despite trying to make Love a key resource it has somehow pushed me to becoming a joyless optimiser.

Lakeburg Legacies offers beautiful graphics and soundtrack, the gameplay cannot hold up though. After a few hours, gameplay becomes a mix of frustrating and boring.

Having experimented the demo version some months ago and the supposedly final product now, it's evident that Lakeburg Legacies unfortunately didn't manage to be molded into a consistent product, lacking polish to the point sometimes it doesn't even feel finalized. This is a curious simulator with a really interesting concept but it doesn't live up to its position as a full game. It'd have been a better decision to make it an early access title instead of the full release as it is right now.

Lakeburg Legacies is an open-ended sort of city management simulation where people come first, and its easy to get invested in it.

Despite the promising combination of dating sim and resource management mechanics, Lakeburg Legacies doesn't lean hard enough in either direction, resulting in a wishy-washy game that's charming in looks but lacking in substance. The bones of a good game are here, but it just doesn't come together into something memorable.

Lakeburg Legacies is a resource management title with its own complexity and development, but with the magic touch of the flirting system to add a little spice to the mix. If you're a fan of the genre, you can't miss it.

From its designs to its world-building mechanics, "Lakeburg Legacies" is a beautifully crafted game that successfully merges a variety of genres.

One of the biggest strengths of the game is the freedom in how you can approach play and succeed. You can focus on building strong relationships between villagers, or you can optimise the employment prospects. You can expand your village through recruitment, coupling with outsiders or filling houses with children. You'll probably find yourself bouncing between these different options during a playthrough to help firefight your current predicaments. This really helps to keep the gameplay loop fresh and challenging.
