Why play it

Len’s Island is a blend of peaceful building, farming, and crafting, mixed with intense skill-based combat with roguelike dungeon crawling and open-world exploration. Venture through the world that combines procedural generation with hand-made levels that make every world different. You’re new to the small town on this beautiful island. Even though you only have the tools in your backpack, you’re determined to make a new life for yourself. Create your new home and plant crops to sustain yourself (or sell in the market), and relax on the pier and fish for your dinner. Or let your adventurous side take over and wander the 30 different islands, exploring different biomes, and venturing deep into caves to unearth the secrets of the islands.

Story and worldbuilding

You're new to town, with only the tools in your backpack, a can-do attitude and the ability to build a new life for yourself on the beautiful island nearby. Unravel the dark secrets the island holds as you venture deeper into the caves in search of mystery and treasure. Len's Island is a blend of peaceful building, farming and crafting, mixed with intense combat, dungeon battles and deep questing and exploration.

Maybe it will improve as time goes on as Flow Studio adds to it; I hope it does. I wanted to like Len's Island. It just wasted several hours of my limited time on this Earth. And that’s one sin I cannot forgive.

Len’s Island generates enjoyment primarily out of its building mechanics, providing a serviceable experience amongst every other aspect of the game. While this is still an easy recommendation for gamers with an appetite for a new survival game, it won’t appeal to everyone.

Len's Island is a unique experience of free exploration, intense combat, and a world that invites you to get lost in. Something not so unusual these days.

It's hard to see Len's Island as anything but a low quality effort to get a toehold in the survival-crafter genre. Non-existent narrative, actively hostile character progression, and a likely unoptimized graphics engine destroy any ease of use or enjoyment one might accidentally find.

Len’s Island is a beautiful blend of adventure and creativity. Whether you’re growing vegetables, fighting dungeon beasts, or just watching the sun rise from your handmade porch, it offers something worth returning to. The real magic? Playing with a friend and making memories in a world that feels truly yours.

Len’s Island is a fun game to play and relax. It is a survival crafting title, but surviving in it is deliberately made easy. It feels like it’s only there for immersion, which fits well with the rest of the game. The combat and camera may need some time to get used to, but it’s not a deal-breaker. If you’re looking for something fun and relaxing that doesn’t require too much commitment, then Len’s Island has everything that you need.

Len's Island remains a fun sandbox that rewards creativity and hard work, although it lacks a gripping story and can become repetitive over time. It's great for playing alone and even better with friends. It could become a modern indie classic in the survival genre if it gets more updates or modding support.

Overall, I enjoy Len’s Island, and the people at Flow Studio have done a great job with their debut title. With the update released, it is clear that they have listened to their community. I would recommend it to all survival fans, but with a genre so overpopulated, I fear Len’s Island may fall to the wayside.

Len's Island is a distinctive mix of survival, ARPG and dungeon crawler. It makes you feel like an explorer grappling with a world that can't wait to be discovered. There are some flaws such as a technical sector that could be improved, but as a start to the adventure it's not bad.

Len’s Island is a highly digestible blend of survival, crafting, and action RPG. It offers considerable freedom, a picturesque world, numerous systems, and, at least for the first few hours, satisfying gameplay both solo and in co-op. Even if it didn’t win my heart I consider it a fairly interesting entry among recent indie sandbox games, proving that even in a flood of similar titles, something unique can be created. Playing solo, you’ll likely get bored quickly, but in a group, this title can provide many hours of engaging fun. After all, everything’s better with friends, even running around barefoot.
