Even if it’s clearly dancing on the same old strings, Lies of P: Overture is an excellent expansion that adds a whole lot more to a game that was already great.

With a finale that wraps up Lies of P neatly in a box, like the one Gepetto lugs around Krat, I’m left fulfilled and grateful for this strange and unique Pinocchio-inspired package. Overture, like its base game counterpart, is an excellent Soulslike journey that oozes confidence, fun, and a deep appreciation for the genre.

Lies of P: Overture is a fantastic, lore-packed DLC that pays off the rich storytelling foundations of the base game. Though somewhat short, the core mechanics remain as satisfying as ever, and the fresh content, OST, and voice acting make it a joy to explore. If you're a Lies of P fan, this DLC is one you absolutely should not miss out on.

The Overture DLC isn't just an add-on; it's a testament to the devs' passion. It doesn’t just build on the base game; it outshines it. True love for the craft shines through every detail!

Close to its 2-year anniversary, the murderous puppet returns with an ever-so-brilliant DLC that not only rivals the design of the original game, but in many aspects surpasses what was puppeteered before. This expansion shines with mechanical brilliance, is drenched in even more oil and blood, and most important of all, shows the amazing snow tech that was developed! Apart from many new bosses, great level design, memorable locations, curious storylines, and a ton of quality-of-life improvements, we are simply getting more of what made Lies of P amazing.

Expanding on a story already told is a tricky task, however, Neowiz took a clever sidestep and used the opportunity to expand the lore even more. The additions are plentiful and whilst shorter, still provides plenty of challenge to returning adventurers‍

NEOWIZ puts their skills on full display with Lies of P: Overture, tackling obnoxious tropes and bringing new light to them masterfully. At £24.99, it feels like an entire sequel waiting to be explored by fans of the original, and it stands as a no-brainer DLC for them.
