Cute and chill, homesteading in your giant mech on Lightyear Frontier’s alien world is already some good and simple fun, even if it currently stops a bit short.

Lightyear Frontier is a delightfully peaceful adventure in an inviting world that shows a lot of potential in Early Access. While it's in need of a little refinement to make the experience more streamlined overall, the mech offers up a fun, fresh approach to farming, with a variety of tools to play with and a satisfying sense of progression.

A satisfying daily loop turns into a speedy momentum in this open world farming game, but its early access release raises questions that need answers.

Despite being in its beta phase, Lightyear Frontier is a very enjoyable game that serves to disconnect and have a good time while you focus on enjoying your peaceful farm life while piloting a giant mecha with a tractor nose that instead of firing missiles is capable of firing multiple seeds at different targets simultaneously. and that instead of carrying a flamethrower to incinerate your enemies, it has a hose that serves you both to water your crops more effectively, and to clean the putrefaction of the other areas of the planet and in this way help to make it a habitable environment for both its fauna and flora, as for us.

Dedication to the details takes the mech-based farming concept from a fun gimmick all the way to a genuine standout in one of our favorite genres and even in this very early stage, Lightyear Frontier already has given me some of my favorite gameplay moments in a farming sim.

Lightyear Frontier is a cozy delight that’ll have you exploring a lush new world and taking a ride on the more creative side of life. With the visuals and background music working so well with each other, you’ll find yourself losing hours while building your new homestead away from home. Maybe even a village with several massive farms. There’s endless potential for this Early Access release and even though it’s already great, it can only get better going forward.

Lightyear Frontier is a title that need more upgrades. Still heavily limited in the quantity and quality of its mechanics, we hope that the developers continue to expand it, as despite its flaws, it's a good game, due to the very good chillout mood and for its technical qualities.

Lightyear Frontier impresses with its sci-fi setting, non-violent approach and nature-focused gameplay, to say nothing of the gorgeous visuals. It has a ways to go, though, and some issues to iron out.

Lightyear Frontier offers a new kind of approach to farming simulators, combining harvesting and farming mechanics with the use of a mech adapted for the occasion. The ultimate goal of the game, in this Early Access version, is to convey a feeling of tranquillity, and a relaxing experience for those players who do not like to engage in survival exploits in hostile worlds. There are many interesting ideas at the moment, but perhaps Frame Break could think about introducing some new gameplay elements that would also appeal to those looking for something more eventful.
