"A chaotic birth of luck and revenge." Lost in Random: The Eternal Die achieves the difficult task of transforming a traditional narrative experience into a vibrant roguelike adventure without losing its soul. Stormteller Games has redefined the essence of the series with faster combat, a clever balance between skill and randomness, and music and voice acting that immerse the player in a world of luck and fate. Despite some technical flaws and limited repetition, the overall experience is deep, enjoyable, and well worth the time. It's an adventure that combines agile combat with gothic symbolism, proving that risk can be the most beautiful form of creativity.

Anyone with any interest in roguelikes like Hades will want to give it a whirl, while the dark fairy tale atmosphere will be appealing to others. The game wants to present a polished, not revolutionary, experience and manages to deliver on this in spades.

In a genre in which the games are looking ever more generic, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die manages to show its own qualities as a roguelite with charismatic characters and addicting combat mechanics. Beyond that, the way the premise fits the map randomization format and rewards is very satisfying.

In a poker game, The Eternal Die would look insecure with his hand, even holding a Full House. Not strong enough to beat a Royal Flush from Hades, its clear inspiration, but enough to surprise the table that was expecting, at most, a pair.

While I may have been let down by the isolated nature of Lost In Random: The Eternal Die’s design, with its single-note narrative and detachment from its predecessor, I was happy to be back in the wonderfully weird world of Random, with its charming cast and bizarre rules. I thoroughly enjoyed its fun, easy-to-pick-up combat, progression systems that offer variety and strategy, challenging boss fights, and delighted in the superb voice acting and singular art direction. I may not be a gambling man, but if you like a good roguelite, Lost In Random: The Eternal Die is a sure bet for a great time.

Lost in Random: The Eternal Die offers a different, roguelite perspective on the world of Randomness, where the focus is entirely shifted to action, while the story is set aside.
