Luma Island is an epic, cozy adventure game bursting at the seams with RPG content.

When it boils down to it, Luma Island is ultimately a fun game. The decision to make all so players could complete the game without having to swap jobs might have been the right one but it was incredibly disappointing to find out. With no stamina bars, there’s no need for food, but still, it would have been nice if the things you crafted were useable. That was my main complaint besides the frustration of overlapping traps in the temples.

Luma Island has been out on Steam for some time, almost a year in fact. So this time, I wasn’t there when it was first released. However, in this case, I’m happy that the game has been out for almost a year. Luma Island is so complete, keeps surprising you with out-of-the-ordinary additions and has excellent quality of life elements. I think this is the result of listening to players’ input and wishes, of tweaking so that bugs are squashed and tying the entire package up with a beautiful bow. I’m really delighted at how Feel Free Games took the familiar elements of simulation games, gave them their own twist and added some more to Luma Island.

Luma Island by Feel Free Games is an ambitious and refreshing addition to the farming simulator and RPG genres. Its greatest strengths are undoubtedly the unlimited energy bar and infinite inventory, which dramatically change the gaming experience and eliminate frustrating micromanagement. This freedom, combined with a choice of game modes (Cozy, Adventure, Hero), makes the game accessible to a wide range of players—from those who crave purely relaxing farming to those seeking a challenge with combat. If you’re looking for a game that lets you escape into a digital world where your creativity and thirst for adventure are the only limits, Luma Island is an excellent choice for you.

Luma Island is a no nonsense crafting game with lovely exploration, but everything starts to feel a bit samey after the first few hours.

I'm honestly kind of surprised I hadn't heard of Luma Island before now. As much as I love farming sims, I think part of the double-edged sword of there being

Luma Island is a nice and cosy game to play either alone or with friends, with plenty to do and discover. However, it can be very grindy, tedious, and doesn't really provide much of a challenge.

Luma Island offers something for everyone with a love for relaxing and inviting games. Grinding aside, the farming, crafting, and exploration aspects are all equally viable experiences. There are some minor frustrations and a few shallow moments, but on the whole Luma Island offers an endlessly appealing escape from the real world.

Luma Island is an excellent starting point for anyone looking to dive into the farming sim genre. Its simplicity and rewarding gameplay loop make farming, exploration, and overall progression both engaging and relaxing. The game truly shines when played with friends, offering a calming and enjoyable experience that feels tailor-made for cozy gaming sessions. While the game isn’t without its flaws, most issues could likely be resolved with a few patches. Despite these hiccups, Luma Island stands out as a cozy game that delivers on its promise of relaxation—arguably cozier than many other titles in the genre.

Luma Island is a well designed simulation game filled with a variety of activities and puzzles, though the frequency and similarity of the puzzles can make the main story feel stagnant.
