A calming, creative experience built around the joy of arranging and personalising small spaces, the simple but cute look and relaxing atmosphere of MakeRoom make it easy to lose track of time while experimenting with ideas. It thrives when you let your own imagination free, as it's more focused on offering a gentle, low-pressure escape rather than gamey, structured goals. Sadly, the clunky controls, its somewhat cumbersome interface, and the lack of placement precision can interrupt the flow, making the experience feel less smooth than it could be.

MakeRoom finds its own niche and can harness all aspects it offers very well, despite light occasional slip-ups. To those seeking simple comfort and an outlet for creative expression, you can’t go wrong with this one.

MakeRoom is one of the better room decoration diorama options out there, offering more and looking better than something like My Cozy Room.

It is a heartfelt, cozy, and impressive creative playground, especially remarkable for a solo developer, and a fantastic pick for anyone who loves to design at their own pace. I recommend you try it for yourself and let me know what you build.

MakeRoom puts focus on creativity and design, and very minimal in structure beyond learning mechanics. For some this comes off less game and more sandbox, but that definitely isn’t a bad thing. Instead it gives players the tools to design without pressure or parameters. An open space to explore their own imagination.

If you like decorating games that have very little guidance and won’t tell you what to do, MakeRoom is a perfect game for you. It’s cozy, it’s aesthetic, and the vibes are on point. I had no issues with the game really, and I think there are loads of creative types out there who would love this game a lot. I can’t recommend MakeRoom enough. It’s almost perfect, and I look forward to playing it again once the community has had the opportunity to make a bunch more items and put them up for others to download and play with.
