Why play it

Take the role of Lambda as you are exiled from Manahill and thrown into the beautiful but unforgiving world of Aevi in this Japanese-style turn-based pixel-art RPG. Become a manafinder and seek the manastones as you battle against ferocious beasts and other threats as you fight for the survival of the exiles.

Story and worldbuilding

Aevi is a beautiful but unforgiving world where only one kingdom exists, blessed by the protection of the manastones: Manahill. Take the role of Lambda as you are exiled from Manahill, and become a manafinder to seek manastones that can protect the precarious settlement of exiles. As manastones become scarcer, the few remaining involve braving into the wilds and fighting powerful beasts. As the job becomes harder, and as other external forces threaten the future of the settlement, hope starts becoming but a fleeting dream. Can Lambda achieve a miracle?

Manafinder isn’t going to impress any RPG veteran or anyone looking for an original idea. There are better games made with RPG Maker out there, like Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass, which was elevated by its tenderly written and gut-wrenching story and complex job system. Manafinder is just kind of alright, and at least it isn’t a roguelike.

A competent and enjoyable JRPG that checks all the boxes, but rarely goes beyond them

Mixing some odd action-based moments into a turn-based RPG is an odd move, but it contributes to the somewhat hodge podge feel to the whole affair

Indie developer Wolfsden managed to incorporate several entertaining mini-games to create a charming fifteen-hour adventure. Manafinder is a cute pixel-art turn-based RPG that will appeal to many players with its sidequests and interesting battle system/
