It would be easy for me not to recommend MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies. The game is smothered by a poor camera, an excess of short load screens, a forgettable campaign, simplistic missions, portions of undubbed dialog and an overall lack of polish. But even with all that, I still managed to have a bit of fun pulverizing the bad guys with a little help from some scantily clad girls online. Is it $40 fun? Hell no, but you should keep it in mind if ever it goes on sale and you've had your run of other, more superior hack-and-slashers.

A strong multiplayer feature buckles under the weight of a middling single player mode.

The best way to enjoy MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies is to realize that the game is a shortish visual novel with action interludes.

MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies is a highly entertaining entry into the Neptunia series, with a fresh combat system and a hilarious premise it's a must play!

MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies suffers from the same problems as its predecessors, with a clunky battle system and convoluted storytelling. It's gratuitous fan service for Neptunia fans in the form of a rough and unpolished hack and slash, but it amounts to little else. The robust cast of characters doesn't do much to mask the bigger issues with the combat, and while there are differences between the characters, there are few meaningful choices to be made when selecting one. Even the most devoted Neptunia fans will have a hard time swallowing this one.

As a Neptunia fan, I was pleased to play another hack-and-slash style game from the franchise. As usual, the comedy during dialogue was hilarious, especially with the sarcastic Blanc now at the limelight. This is definitely a game other Neptunia fans should play, or those looking for something to casually pass the time with.

It really is kind of amazing to see how far the Netpunia games have come over the years, from niche RPG titles that saw releases every now and then, to not only having regular releases in the main franchise, but a series of interesting spinoffs as well. MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies is the latest such example, and it works really well - when it is working.

Overall, Megatagmension Blanc + Neptunia VS Zombies is a silly, short hack’n’slash visual novel-esque game that’ll entertain you if you’re into cutesy girls doing cutsey, random things in a school environment – If you’ve had exposure to the Megadimension universe before, into anime such as K-ON or Lucky Star, or are just looking for something different to shake up your Hack’nSlash life, certainly pick up this game. If, however, you’re a newcomer to these types of games, visual style, or haven’t played a Megadimension game before…I would say there’s better out there.

MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune Vs Zombies offers plenty of content that will keep players happy for hours. The game is very fun, and the comedy is first class. The story is over the top as expected. The number of characters to choose from is amazing, and there is certainly a favorite for everyone. The control scheme was really the only gripe I had but I ended up getting the hang of things. I very much enjoyed writing myMegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies review, and I hope you enjoy playing this portable zombie hack and slash release!

The gameplay itself is fun if a bit uninspired. The narrative stumbles from the starting blocks until the finish line, finding itself in more embarrassing scenarios as it progresses. With mission lengths falling terribly short and being the very definition of redundant, there isn’t much value to be had outside of the gameplay. It’s a sad cycle to see the Hyperdimension series fall into; it has officially become what it set out to satirize.
