Mewgenics is a fantastic tactical RPG that's good for more than a hundred hours of roguelike runs. Just when you think you have it figured out it'll throw something completely unexpected and hilariously gross at you – and probably a catchy new original song, too.
Read full review ↗What McMillen, Glaiel, and co. pulled off is simply paw-some. It's catnip for roguelites in all its glory, as you keep going through runs and coming back for more.
Read full review ↗A sprawling, ridiculous, and endlessly surprising roguelike that will drag you body and soul into its chaotic world.
Read full review ↗"The gross-out humor and whacky build interactions that have been a key part of McMillen's work for decades don't distract"
Read full review ↗Despite Mewgenics' best attempts to kill my appetite, dozens and dozens of hours in, I'm still hungry for another run.

Read full review ↗Mewgenics is a chaotic game that uses player agency for balance. Its seemingly endless number of skill, item, and character combos make for an unpredictable but overall fun game.
Read full review ↗The extensive cat breeding system and the impressively deep, strategic turn-based combat make for a unique, addictive gameplay loop. Presented and polished with stylish art and music, it's the complete package.
Read full review ↗Mewgenics is not only my favourite game of 2026 and one that's unlikely to be unseated from its throne, but it's also already one of my favourite roguelikes and strategy games of all time. It builds upon other classics that blend the two genres, like Into The Breach and Fights in Tight Spaces, and imbues them with brilliant encounters, enemy design, and systems so deep you may never fully get the hang of them.Mewgenics is an extremely special kind of game that only comes around once in a blue moon, even if it is filled to the brim with cat turds.
