Neon Apex: Beyond the Limit isn't flawless, but its vibrant style, fast-paced gameplay, classic graphics, and bold ambition make it stand out—even when its mechanics don't quite reach the finish line. The game is good, but it needs a lot of polish.

Neon Apex: Beyond the Limit gives you an intense racing environment where speed is everything. Rushing past the competition is an exhilarating feeling. However there isn’t much that separates Neon Apex from other racing games and the other modes are ordinary.

. But in that lies the crux of the problem, the best aspects of the game don’t involve playing the game. The core racing loop doesn’t hold a candle to its contemporaries. In comparison, arcade racer Horizon Chase 2 is the same price, and while neither is perfect, I would recommend Chase every day of the week.
