Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway

On paper, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3 does so much right, with a bigger roster of racers, more kart customisation, and the oft-requested addition of voice acting, which does add to the atmosphere considerably. But on the track it's hugely disappointing, with a severely reduced frame rate compared to its predecessor, making everything feel more sluggish as a result.

All in all, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway isn’t the worst kart racer I’ve ever played, but again, it’s also not the best especially when compared to previous entries in the series. As previously mentioned, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway is a middle of the road racer in almost every aspect save for its character roster, graphics, and elements like picking three characters to be part of your pit crew.

Despite not being the most fun kart racing game currently available, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway fulfills its role by delivering a huge variety of elements from Nickelodeon animations in yet another title in a franchise that is showing itself to be solid.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway brings some nice refinements to this ongoing series along with upping the amount of content across the entire package. It doesn’t play drastically different from the first two but you get more characters, modes, tracks, parts, and more than the last entry. I would fully recommend it to any fan of kart racers and especially to fans of these Nickelodeon properties.

Even before logging in for the first time, I was excited to explore the maps and learn the fundamental mechanics of driving in the Nickelodeon universe that I had grown up watching. I wouldn't say that Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway is a bad entry in the kart racing genre. It's far from the best, to be sure, but it's competent and content-filled enough that you'll at least feel like you're getting your money's worth.

It's definitely not Mario Kart (but neither Crash Team Racing, for that matter), but Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3 Slime Speedway is enjoyable for Nicktoons' fans.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway marks the return of arcade racing by the US broadcaster's most famous characters. A kart game packed with content and modes, supporting convincing and at times pleasantly tactical gameplay. Despite the abundance and variety of the Bamtang Games production, the title does not dare as much as it could, merely tracing the stylistic features of the reference genre, giving way to some minor smears in the playful balance. If you are a fan of the genre but are tired of Mario and Crash, SpongeBob and company might be the right choice to spend many hours of fun.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3 is a second-rate version of Mario Kart; there's no denying it. It tries to keep things fresh,  and the voice acting is a welcome addition. Although there were a few smiles along the way, the presentation and gameplay aren't up to scratch, and it's a little pricey.
