Nikoderiko: The Magical World is a wonderfully satisfying platforming experience that borrows and expertly replicates the elements that made classic entries in the genre so beloved. Smart level design, enjoyable gameplay, lots of collectibles, and a killer soundtrack all come together to make this one an easy recommendation if you love DKC.

Nikoderiko: The Magical World – Director's Cut is a rather pleasant surprise which, while not ranking among the very best in its genre, is certainly capable of leaving behind positive memories.

Nikoderiko: The Magical World provides a raucous and exciting platformer that you'll want to keep exploring, and for those who've already played it, there's even more to unearth now, and a new world.

Even if an additional difficulty level, slightly improved controls, and graphics aren't that interesting for you, if you like the genre and don't already own the game, you should get it now. It's worth it!

A true love-letter to the platforming genre, all those who grew up with monkeys and bandicoots will come to love Nikoderiko: The Magical World – Director’s Cut’s mongooses as well.

Nikoderiko: The Magical World is a charming and surprisingly well-crafted platformer that will delight seasoned players just as much as beginners, including children. It isn’t brimming with originality and relies exclusively on elements we’ve seen before, but it does so with effortless ease and flair. While Kao the Kangaroo, for example, comes across as a likable but still clearly low-budget and less polished imitation of famous AAA titles, Nikoderiko matches them in quality. I’m jotting down the name of the studio, VEA Games, in my notebook, as we can reasonably expect great things from them.

Nikoderiko: The Magical World Director's Cut is a good time for new fans, but those who have already played the original may debate on whether or not they want to return. With quality gameplay, an excellent soundtrack by David Wise, and pretty visuals, Nikoderiko is a platformer worth your time despite its lackluster narrative.

Nikoderiko: The Magical World is the sum of its parts; some of which it has borrowed from established platformer IPs, and the rest created by the Vea Games. With the option for co-op also available, I could see Nikoderiko getting younger gamers into the genre. Overall, it makes for a polished, fun-filled, albeit familiar experience that I really enjoyed.

While borrowing heavily from classic titles, Nikoderiko proves to be a light and enjoyable adventure. Despite some imperfections, it’s a perfect fit for younger players or fans of the genre.
