Even in its current state, Path of Exile 2 has set a new bar for the ARPG genre. I’m ready to pour thousands of hours into it over the years to come, and I’m confident that GGG will only make it magnitudes better over the next year as they continue to grow the game towards its full release. After over 50 hours with Path of Exile 2's early access, I feel I've only scratched the surface of what could become one of the best ARPGs ever made.

There are some perfectly good reasons to stay clear of PoE2 until it reaches full release in the future. If you start playing right now, you only get part of the full game. There are only three acts and half of the characters. Some of the gameplay and core mechanics will change over time, and there are still plenty of bugs, some of them game-crashing, to contend with.

Immediately one of the best ARPGs even while on early access. The boss design is one of its best features. It highlights Grinding Gear Games' amazing attention to detail when it comes to their games. The content you can consume on this free-to-play game is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.

It's too early to give out the crown of the genre, but Path of Exile 2 has all the makings for it.

Path of Exile 2 is already a lot of fun in Early Access! I couldn't get enough of the ARPG while playing and sometimes worked on my character until five o'clock in the morning or just wanted to defeat this one boss and then completely lose myself in the next area.
