Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition is a strong reminder of why this series made such an impact in the first place. It keeps the match‑3 combat fast and rewarding, adds enough modern touches to make the experience smoother, and delivers a steady loop that’s easy to fall into for hours at a time. It’s not trying to reinvent the formula, but it doesn’t need to; the core idea still works brilliantly. If you enjoy puzzle games with a bit of strategy and progression baked in, this is a simple, reliable pick‑up on Xbox that delivers exactly what it promises.

Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition was never going to be a Game of the Year contender, but this remaster offers hours of gameplay at a fair price.

For lovers of colorful puzzles, Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition is a rare diamond among the eShop's hogs.

Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition doesn't do much to distinguish itself from the previous version it replaces in the eShop. If you have that, you're fine. If you don't, this is a surprisingly deep, highly addictive match-three RPG that's well worth the price.

Perhaps Puzzle Quest really is back this time around, and the development team can use the momentum to finally deliver a second game that moves past the mistakes of previous efforts and builds on the heritage and prestige of the original.

I love a game where you can literally pick up and play for a few minutes and put it down without consequence. I love being able to sink close to an hour at a time, doing the same rewarding actions, and then walk away without needing to get another move, another turn. It’s the most ideal way to casually enjoy a game, and Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition keeps players locked in for the most viciously enjoyable cycle that I could imagine. If you loved it the first time, you’re going to adore it the second.

On paper, this is a mash-up that shouldn’t work. But testament to Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition, and with this being the second remaster of the original game, it proves that it does indeed work. Be prepared to play an awful lot of tile matching gameplay with very little variation in between. But if you want a game to dip in and out of, a game that is deep enough to be called an RPG too, you could do a lot worse than Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition.

Immortal Edition is a package that shines in theory but falters in execution. The RPG elements remain engaging, the quest structure is robust, and the nostalgic weight of the original trilogy is undeniable. But all of that is held hostage by an AI that simply refuses to play fair. Puzzle Quest still has its charms, but when the board is this rigged, even the most loyal fans might find themselves questioning whether it’s worth the grind anymore.

It's great that Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition is here to liven up the classic indie with slick visuals and oodles of accumulated content.

Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition, despite its flaws, is a genuine VALUE. It’s worth FAR more than its asking price, and that’s RARE these days.
