Raidou Remastered isn't the best Shin Megami Tensei game on PC, but its live-action take on a familiar turn-based combat system is as fun as it is fascinating.

Raidou Remastered gives one of Atlus' most experimental PS2 outings a deserved second chance. Better described as a remake, a huge list of improvements, including a superbly reworked combat system, make this a must-try for the developer's modern audience. Raidou remains a uniquely weird and compelling action RPG, and this is its definitive form.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a wonderful retread of a forgotten classic, smartly polishing up its best parts and modifying its worst parts to make for an overall more enjoyable experience. Though the visuals are just 'okay' and the detective gameplay can be a bit plain, the action-packed combat, reworked demon fusion, and interesting story all come together to make for a gripping adventure.I'd recommend you pick this one up if you're curious and you think it may be up your alley. I've never played anything quite like Raidou, and it offers a very unique take not just on the standard SMT formula, but action RPGs on the whole.

Raidou Remastered is a charming remake of one of ATLUS' most experimental PS2. It succeeds in preserving that legacy, even if it holds it back from true greatness.

Everything a fan could want, but maybe not enough to win over newcomers.

So much like the Frankentitle, we have a Frankenupdate. Neither historically accurate nor boastfully made-over, what we have is… weird! Neat, but weird.

RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a fantastic revamping of the 2006 classic, putting it in conversation with contemporary ARPGs.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a fun action take on the classic Shin Megami Tensei series. It draws players in with its initial mystery and keeps them coming back for more as they dive deeper into this rabbit hole. It might have some rough edges, but it is still an unforgettable journey.

Raidou Remastered might be one of the top Atlus games and a main highlight of the Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner series. The setting and game design offer a really compelling experience that, honestly, nothing else really comes close to challenging. The action combat, in its much-improved remastered form, is great fun and surprisingly strategic. If any future Shin Megami games use action, they should absolutely copy Raidou’s homework. Highly recommended!

Raidou Remastered offers a well-paced narrative with intriguing detective elements, a cast of charming characters with equally great voice actors behind them, robust features and quality of life improvements, and a combat system with the Shin Megami Tensei aspects that fans know and love. This is a nearly perfect remaster that sets the standard for RPG remasters due to its breadth of features and quality of life improvements over its original game.
