Rocket Fist

Rocket Fist is a fun game and I don’t think anybody can ask any more than that. If you are going at it alone I would question if your money is best spent elsewhere, because while the single-player portion is fun, it’s simply not going to give you a whole lot of content. Even if you play with friends it isn’t going to keep you hooked for hours and hours, but if you want a game to add to the multiplayer collection then you can do far worse as anybody can jump in with you and have a fun time.

Rocket Fist may be an accessible game but by no means does that make it a walk in the park. Destroying enemy robots using a rocket-propelled sphere whose physics recall that of a billiard ball, Rocket Fist quickly reaches frantic levels of activity, whether on solo or multiplayer. It gets everything right and would get it even more if it lasted longer and had online multiplayer.

Rocket Fist is the type of game that almost everyone can jump into and have a good time.

Rocket Fist for Switch is a great party experience when you want, well, rocket fists! While this version of the game omits some content from other platforms, the simple and accessible controls mixed with some lightning-fast gameplay is a great recommendation for your next four-player game night.

Rocket Fist is really fun to play, but only in the company of drunken friends, but if you play one, then perhaps I would say that it is meaningless, as the layers are traversed quickly, the enemies are not dangerous, exactly the same as the bosses, if you often play the second half or take the Switch to the get-togethers with friends, the Rocket Fist for you will be a great purchase, but if you are alone, then think about buying any other games.

Ultimately, Rocket Fist is another example of a Nintendo game that does it right by focusing on the experience over content. By focusing on mechanics in the same vein as Wii Sports, a group of four friends can easily play for hours without it feeling stale. My suggestion to you: try not to gloat too much during the instant replay after a glorious victory and the Rocket Fist fun will keep flying in this strong local multiplayer experience.

In what is becoming one of the most contested types of games on the system (keeping neck and neck with roguelikes) I firmly believe that at this moment as a total package Rocket Fist delivers the best deal on the system currently. While it is local multiplayer only, ceding ground only to Bomberman R in that area, I believe that the included provisions for bots does a reasonably good job of compensating. The rules and controls are simple to understand but the nuance with how best to use the walls to make difficult attacks leaves substantial room for people to refine their technique. Throw in what I’d consider to be a replayable and challenging Adventure mode to refine and perfect your skills and I’m calling it: Rocket Fist has thrown a knockout punch against the current competition in this space.
