It all shapes up to the definitive, and maybe final version of one of the most beautiful, detailed, and passionately developed fighting games in recent memory.
Read full review ↗While by no means unimpressive – fighting game enthusiasts should have plenty of fun with the game, especially when played with friends – Skullgirls often feels like the wrapping is in danger of out-pricing the gift.
Read full review ↗If you're looking for a new fighting game experience and you've somehow managed to avoid Skullgirls over the last seven years, then Skullgirls 2nd Encore is as good as any opportunity to do so. It doesn't bring anything new to the table to distinguish it from the other iterations of the update that dropped back in 2016 – and some new characters would have really helped sell its arrival on Switch – but with its catchy jazzy soundtrack and memorable character animations, it's still one of the most underrated fighters to emerge in recent generations.

Read full review ↗Unless you've already had your fill of the game on other platforms, Skullgirls 2nd Encore on the Switch is well worth a purchase.
Read full review ↗As a fighting game, there is almost no aspect of Skullgirls Second Encore that isn't an absolute joy to play, and the Switch's portability only enhances those qualities. Read full review ↗EXCELLENT - The Switch is a really good system for highlighting games that have aged well over the years and Skullgirls is a defining example of this. This was a landmark title from that period of gaming, and this port shows that love and support for the Skullgirls name has only continued to thrive. This is an absolute must-have for competitive gamers and anyone who loves a game bursting at the seams with personality.
Read full review ↗As stated before, if you’re not a fan of the genre as it is, Skullgirls probably won’t change your mind, but if you’re interested in fighting games or already enjoy them as a whole, this is one title you should probably pick up.
