This deep off-road sim delights in giving you a hard time, but every victory is all the sweeter for it.

SnowRunner's glacial pace won't appeal to everyone, but this unique haulage simulation manages to transform everyday terrain into an enemy you need to tame. This is a game that's less about the destination and all about the journey you take; in that sense it's unmatched, and wildly rewarding in a way that few other open worlders are.

SnowRunner is an interesting truck driving game where the environment is your opponent. As long as you can put up with its audio and visual issues and understand that it's an extremely slow-paced game, the rewards for sticking with it are worthwhile.

Simultaneously relaxing, infuriating, perplexing, and rewarding, SnowRunner is on my shortlist for game of the year.

While SnowRunner has a few quirks here and there, overall it's a fantastic game of exploration and brute-force driving.

SnowRunner on Nintendo Switch 2 is a solid way to rediscover a game that was already massive in scope and ambition, now offering a more stable experience that is comfortable to play in handheld mode. It doesn't alter its essence or try to soften the experience, and that remains both its greatest strength and its main barrier to entry. It is a demanding, deliberate, and unique experience, yet also one of the most satisfying in the genre when everything clicks.

SnowRunner on Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t a new game, but it’s a great upgrade compared to the original version on Nintendo Swich. Sure, the game remains slow, stubborn, and definitely not for everyone, but the improved hardware makes a real difference. It’s clearer, more comfortable, and much easier to enjoy as a hybrid experience. This is still a game about mud, trucks, and plans that almost always go wrong. But that’s also where its charm is. If you enjoy slow progress, heavy vehicles, and small victories, SnowRunner on Switch 2 is finally a Nintendo version worth taking seriously.

Each route is full of dangers and "headaches", but that's what makes its completion all the more rewarding.
